A few days ago I told my husband I needed one of those really large jewelry boxes (floor stand), like we have room for that. However, I saw a picture of someone's closet on Pinterest (here) and she had her jewelry hung on hooks in the closet. So now, I do too! No need for a huge jewelry box now, and they are the removeable 3M kind, so when I change my mind they can go!!
Yea! Give me more ideas, what unusual things do you use hooks for??? Jen's Pins

Kiddie Management Center Tutorial
I thought these were amazing when I first saw them on Pinterest. (Here) I just had to find a way to make them without shelling out $35, which is what they are going for on Etsy.
I purchased two poster frames from Target for $5.99 each. I also bought a couple of packs of cheap scrapbook paper that Target had in the dollar bins around Valentine's Day.

I ended up not using the post it pockets. I also bought more of the blank calendars pictured from Walmart in another color. The days of the week area is a Post-It pack I found at Target. You could make either of these on your computer. All of the other items I had on hand from other projects. For sticky stuff, I used double sided tape. You could use glue, but it may get those annoying ripples in it.
Step 1- I unwrapped the poster frames. I used the cardboard that came as the backing and attached all of my pieces directly to that. You could get a piece of posterboard so it could be changed out easily, but I was going for speed here!!
Step 2- I gathered some pictures of the girls. On my boards I used portrait photos, but landscape was used in the original pin (see above). If you use portrait photos, your empty space is landscape. If you use landscape photos your empty space will be portrait. (Red area in first photo that says "Kiddie Management Center"_
Step 3- I backed the photo and days of the week post it with 4.5"X6.5" cardstock I had on hand to give it a little border. I used construction paper to back the blank calendars because they are very thin and you can see through them.
Step 4- Using the same sized piece of cardstock, I wrote the girls' names in foam letters. I also had these on hand but they were purchased from Hobby Lobby on clearance a few months ago. The pink and white squares by each name are from a piece of scrapbook paper I cut apart.
Step 5- I began laying out the paper how I wanted it. I used the double stick tape to put it all down. In the above photo, I was using an old calendar just for size. You can see in the finished product I used a different color/style. My Walmart only carries these two styles and they are found next to office supplies instead of where most of the other calendars are located.
Final Step- Once everything is right inside the frame, I sealed it all up, removed all protective plastic off the outer frame and superglued a fancy paperclip on the outside of the frame. I filled in the blank calendar from the outside using a Vis a Vis, and it is ready for use!!
Hang them over their bookbag hooks and never miss an appointment or practice again!!
If you have any questions about making your own, please ask me in the comments!! I would also love to see what you come up with so leave a link if you decide to make one!!

Night Sky Nails!!!
This idea comes from a pin I came across a week or so ago. I really think the original pin was a nail decal, but a few commenters gave ideas on how to do it. For the most part it worked!!
Step 1- Paint Nails Black. Let them dry for a few minutes, but it is not necessary for them to be really dry, this is going to get messy!! Step 2- Tear a makeup sponge in half. Using the blue color (Navy Baby in my case), paint one half of the nail sponge on the torn side. Take the brush right out of the bottle, don't wipe it off and wipe both sides of the brush on the sponge. With this, make one good dab on each nail starting about 1/8 inch away from the nail base. Let it dry then do it again. Each time you paint the sponge, it should last for all the nails on one hand, then repaint and do the other hand. Use your judgement, you may need more.
This color is quite dark so you may not see much over the black, but just give it a minute, it will turn out great!!
Mine after the blue... not much to look at.
Supplies: Nail Colors- I used Sinful Colors from Target Black on Black #2, Snow Me White #1, Let's Talk # 929, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure #650 Navy Baby, SH Hard Nail Extreme Wear #180 Disco Ball. Shown Above #2, #650, #929, #1, #180
You also need a makeup sponge to tear up and a sewing needle if you want to do stars.

Step 3- Purple. This color is much more of a purple and much brighter than it appears in the pictures. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to show up right. Anyway, take the smaller piece of the sponge and use this in a diagonal across your nail. You probaby won't want to use as much paint on this one. Just keep applying to the sponge as needed. Don't keep dabbing the colors either. It will begin lifting color off if you do that. If you feel you need more color let the first dab dry. Then repeat.
Step 4- White and more blue- Now for white again use a small bit of sponge. You want to go LIGHT if you are using the color listed here because it is very opaque. Just use a small bit. I used it just on the edge of my purple diagonal splotch. Then, after finishing all the nails I went back over it VERY LIGHTLY with the blue color. It was still a bit wet, but that is okay. You will see what I mean, the white is just too bright. Perhaps silver would be a better choice in retrospect.
Step 5- Optional- I would opt out of this step, but maybe you can do a better job than me. STARS- I used a needle to make stars. I started trying to use the pointed end, but the paint doesn't run all the way down, so I used the side which made globs. Eek! I then turned it around and used the thread end which actually worked well, but I still didn't like them. On the hand pictured I put small ones closer together. Not too bad. On the other hand pictured at the very top, I only put a few here and there.
Step 6- Glitter coat. Ok, if you are looking at your nails now and thinking WTF!! I promise, this step will help a lot. If you like how they look, do a light coat of the glitter polish. If you have a few mistakes go a little heavier. This is the last painting step!!
Step 7- Use a qtip to cleam up polish around the nails. I had quite a bit!!
I hope you have fun experimenting with your own night sky nails! Please leave a comment if you have a tip to make it easier! Or post other colors you used.
Have fun!!
